We cut the template, supply and install the glass splashback, and then this super talented artist paints the splashback itself. The result is utterly amazing with superb and intricate details which create a thoroughly bespoke design to adorn your Hitchin property.
A little about Johanna Wood
Artist Johanna Wood was born in Britain and studied a Printed Textile Design and Fine Art Degree at Farnham in Surrey, graduating with distinction. After graduating Johanna worked as a textile design colourist for an interior textiles company, later going on to work as an Interior Designer for residential clients. She enjoyed furnishing various apartments in some of London's newest luxury central and riverside developments.
She has continued to be very active in the creation of her own art producing works in a wide variety of materials and techniques from painting, drawing, printing, collage work, silk painting, fabric dyeing, murals, specialist paint effects and making use of unusual surfaces such as glass, carved plaster work, decorative mosaics, many for architectural interior and exterior projects, including decorative pieces in garden design installation.
Johanna also designs bespoke exquisite hand painted glass panels for luxurious interior projects such as kitchen and bathroom splashbacks, glass room dividers and decorative wall art.
Her many works of art have earned her the reputation of a first rate artist, with a unique talent for creating woks of exquisite beauty on a range of materials. We are particularly impressed with her work with glass splashbacks.
Coastal scenes to glorify your glass splashback
Much of Johanna's personal art work has been inspired by the time she spends in the intriguing North Devon where she spends time exploring and recording the ever changing beach and sea life, watching the ocean waves, the tides, vast skies and the often dramatic Atlantic weather. The North Devon coastline is a constantly changing inspiration for some superb pieces of art.
With her experiential learning of growing up surrounded by the natural world, Johanna considers herself a Biophilic artist and designer, an ambassador and lover of all nature. Biophilic means relating to, showing, or being the human tendency to interact or be closely associated with other forms of life in nature.

Kitchen Splashback with Mirror Line, Newmarket
This splashback was painted in Ellis Ikon Azure. We also added a mirrored line through the splashbacks which is quite popular. The customer can choose the position and quantity of the lines and also the thickness so can avoid sockets etc.
LED Backlit Splashback, Royston
With a artistic design printed on the back of the glass very lightly, we are able to achieve the design without a light backing but also achieve illumination in various lights through the LED strips installed in a track behind the glass. With a colour wheel on the remote control for the LED Lights, the customer now has an unlimited choice of colours and brightness for his splashback.
Wine Room, Roydon
Working alongside Brandt Kitchens we installed the glass for this beautiful Wine Room in Roydon. By fitting the very large 10mm Glass Panels on the outside, we painted black borders around the glass to hide any hardware and give a nice edge to the glass. The glass works were then finished with matching Black Hinges and a Black Handle.
Frameless Balustrades and Juliet Balcony, Berkhamsted
We measured and installed these 17.5mm Laminated Float Glass Juliet Balcony and Balustrades early 2019. Sitting on chrome stand offs, the clean and modern look makes a massive difference to the rear of the property. Toughened and Laminated, these glass panels will be sure to stand the test of time.
With the balcony weighing in at 157kg and measuring over 3.5m wide, it was no easy task but the excellent fitting team here made it all possible.
