Glass creates an illusion of more space and allows outside features to become part of the interior design. With glass it is possible to link two different spaces together without the barrier of a wall giving you the ability to enjoy your home and garden throughout the year.
Our frameless systems create a contemporary design which safely maximises any view, allowing natural light to spread across the living space. This solution can be used for internal stairs, external balconies, or to act as windbreaks in exposed areas outdoors.
Balustrade posts provide a classic, yet still very popular, design choice. Manufactured using 2.6mm thick walled, 48mm stainless steel for superior strength. This high quality, external grade steel maximises durability and minimises maintenance.
Glass spigots create a modern, minimalist design choice which maximises your view. Glass spigots are a large glass floor clamp that secures the glass vertically. The individual 'feet' allow for natural drainage making it an ideal choice for external areas including patio, and decked gardens, as well as poolside areas.
The possibilities are almost endless. Whether you wish to modernise your home or office space, enhance it or create an eye-catching element in one of your rooms we are here to make your dream come true. Your wish is our command.

If you have kids or pets in your Hertford home, then it's not just your kitchen walls that need protecting. Pets and children do tend to bring in all manner of muck and grime, and they don't seem to care where they leave it either!
Your bathroom, hallway or living room will be subjected to very heavy use, making these areas a magnet for muck. It's a good idea to protect them from stains and marks left by kids and pets. Kids leave grubby finger marks wherever they seem to go, while pets have a habit of rubbing themselves up against your wall coverings, leaving a toffee like dirt that builds up over time. Worse still, after a walk in the rain, they come in and shake, showering filth everywhere. A glass splashback fitted in these high use areas can be cleaned with a quick wipe and your walls will look a clean as can be in no time at all.
A favourite location for a glass splashback outside of the kitchen setting is behind the dog's bed, as the walls here become fouled with sticky grime in a very short space of time. Another favourite, yet alternative location for a glass splashback is behind a wall mounted flat screen television. The reason for this is because the static electricity that they produce attracts huge amounts of dust that simply adheres to the walls around and behind the television, making the wall coverings look pretty grubby.
Be sure to ask what Splashbacks of Distinction can do to help keep your Hertford home looking clean and hygienic by fitting one of our superb glass splashbacks. You will be amazed at how many perfectly good kitchens and bathrooms are scrapped every year that could have provided many more years of service if only they had stayed looking cleaner and more up to date. Glass, with its perfect clarity can transform any room and give a new lease of life to old and tired decor. So whether it is the glass mounting panel for the television in your front room at home or the office, get the professional glass splashback company in and enjoy many more years of care free service from your surroundings. The chances are, your Hertford home just needs a bit of a facelift and glass really does lend a much needed sparkle to your outdated decor.
One possible earlier mention of the town of Hertford was in 672 AD: the first synod of a number of the bishops in England was held either in Hertford or at Hartford, Cambridgeshire. The synod was called by Theodore of Tarsus; decisions included the calculation of the date of Easter.
The Anglo-Saxon Chronicle records that in 913 AD, King Edward the Elder ordered the construction of two earthwork fortifications, known as burhs either side of the ford over the River Lea at Hertford as part of his campaign against the invading Danes.
By the time of the Domesday Book, Hertford had two churches, two markets and three mills. The Normans began work on Hertford Castle, and Hertford Priory was founded by Ralph de Limesy. King Henry II rebuilt Hertford castle in stone, but in 1216, during the First Barons' War, it was besieged and captured after twenty five days by Prince Louis of France. Hertford castle was regularly visited by English royalty and in 1358, Queen Isabella, wife of Edward II, died there. The priory was dissolved in 1536 and subsequently demolished and in 1563, the Parliament of England met at the castle because of a deadly outbreak of plague in London where parliament was usually held.
Hertford grew and prospered as a busy market and county town; communication was improved by the construction of the Lea Navigation Canal in 1767 and the arrival of the railway in 1843. The Port Hill drill hall was completed in 1898 and Yeomanry House was brought into military use in 1910.
Hartford in the US state of Connecticut is named after Hertford. Although the spelling is different, it has been confirmed that it took its name from the Hertfordshire county town of Hertford.
The earliest reference to Hertford appears in the Ecclesiastical History of the English People, written by Bede in 731 AD, which refers to Herutford. Herut is the Old English spelling of hart, meaning a fully mature stag; thus the meaning of the name is a ford where harts are found. The Domesday Book of 1086 gives a spelling of Hertforde. The Hertfordshire Constabulary has used the Hart, or stag on the uniforms of its officers for many years. To keep costs down, the force dropped the Hart from the now embroidered epaulettes, but reinstated them after much complaining from officers and the public alike.
In the town are the remains of the original Hertford Castle, principally a motte. The castle's gatehouse, the central part of which dates to a rebuild by Edward IV in 1463, is the home to Hertford Town Council. The Motte, from the original Motte and Bailey castle in Hertford, can be found just behind Castle Hall, a short distance from the modern castle.
In Railway Street you can see the oldest purpose-built Quaker Meeting House in the world. This historic Hertford building has been in use since 1670.
In Cowbridge, there is a Prince Albert Cottage. The first of these cottages was originally built in Hyde Park by the Society for Improving the Condition of the Labouring Classes in 1851 at the time of the Great Exhibition. Prince Albert was involved in their design and financing. They were relocated to Hertford following the exhibition.
A stained-glass window in St Andrew's Church is part of a fringe theory that links Hertford to the Knights Templar and the Holy Grail. Historians generally find Hertford fascinating as the county town has many different historical finds and stories to tell.
When you want to liven up your Hertford home, a gleaming glass splashback is the perfect solution.
Glass splashbacks are a must for any modern kitchen, but are also a superb way of keeping other parts of your house spotlessly clean too.
